Pink Floyd to release expanded version of classic album

‘Piper At The Gates Of Dawn’ gets an anniversary makeover

Pink Floyd are to release a special 40th anniversary edition of their classic debut album ‘The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn’.

The expanded version, out on September 3, features mono and stereo versions of the LP, as well as a disc of bonus tracks.

The bonus tracks are the 1967 singles are ‘Arnold Layne’, ‘See Emily Play’, ‘Apples And Oranges’ plus the B-sides ‘Candy And A Currant Bun’ and ‘Paintbox’.

Other tracks are an exclusive edit of ‘Interstellar Overdrive’, previously only available on an EP in France, and the 1967 stereo version of ‘Apples And Oranges’, which has never before been officially released.

The packaging, designed by longtime Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson, resembles a cloth-covered book with the original Vic Singh photo on the front, and holds the three CDs, along with an eight-page reproduction of one of the group’s then-frontman Syd Barrett’s notebooks.

  嗯,身為Syd與早期Pink Floyd fan,實在等不及啦。儘管早已擁有一張英版風笛手,還是感到相當興奮。剛才去Amazon搜尋,發現了疑似重發版封面的東西,是長這樣的:

……Uh, is this some kind of joke? 突然有點懷念簡單的”Deluxe Version”白字條。
